Furniture Restoration in East Austin, TX

East Austin — east of I-35, from the river up through Cherrywood, Holly, MLK, and Mueller — is the most rapidly transformed part of Austin in the last 15 years. The historic neighborhoods (Holly, Govalle, Chestnut) hold longtime families with deep heritage furniture, while the redeveloped corridors around East 6th, East 11th, and the Mueller masterplan have brought modern infill, design-forward residents, and a heavy concentration of locally crafted contemporary furniture from independent maker communities.

East Austin work splits cleanly. Heritage restoration for longtime families means working on 1940s and 1950s furniture with real sentimental weight — pieces that survived decades of family use and need stabilization rather than refresh. Modern restoration for the newer-arrival design community means working on locally crafted live-edge pieces that didn't cure right, plus mid-century pieces brought in from out of state. Onion Creek and Boggy Creek flood risk is real on the southeast edge, and we handle post-flood work on garage and ground-level pieces.
