Furniture Restoration in San Marcos, TX

San Marcos is anchored by Texas State University, the Square, and the spring-fed San Marcos River — one of the only year-round constant-temperature rivers in Texas. The customer base is split between long-time Hays County families with deep heritage furniture, university faculty in older homes around the Hopkins Street historic district, and a growing influx of Austin commuters along the I-35 / Centerpoint Road corridor. Plus the rental market — old craftsman bungalows split into student rentals, full of mid-century stuff with hard miles on it.

Two issues drive our San Marcos work. River flooding — the San Marcos and Blanco rivers both flood, and the 2015 Memorial Day flood is still a live memory; we still see pieces that families saved but never properly restored. The second is the post-student-rental rescue: dorm-grade abuse on real wood furniture that was originally good. We also see a steady volume of old courthouse-square-era antiques from longtime Hays County estates — oak roll-tops, walnut secretaries, pieces with real provenance that need careful, period-appropriate work.
